*****AIRBAG RECALL INFORMATION*****

UPDATED 10/23/2014 @ 3:13PM

802 Honda and all of our employees are committed to protecting the safety of all of our customers and all Honda owners, and to keeping you informed of all facts and developments as soon as we know them.  We are closely monitoring all information as it becomes available and will, in turn, keep you, our customers, informed.

Like you, we at Honda 802 are concerned about the airbag recall and about what we are hearing and seeing on the news.  Unfortunately, we do not know much more than what is being reported by the news and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  We do know the vehicle models and years that may be involved.  It is unclear how many of these models might be affected.; The following is the most up to date list of Honda vehicles that may be affected:

  Model  Years
  Honda Accord  2001 to 2007
  Honda Civic  2001 to 2005
  Honda CR-V  2002 to 2006
  Honda Element  2003 to 2011
  Honda Odyssey  2002 to 2004
  Honda Pilot  2003 to 2007
  Honda Ridgeline  2006

We know of no Honda vehicles manufactured after 2011 that are affected by the recall.

As soon as we have more information, we will post it here on our website, in the dealership and on social media sites, including Facebook.  You can also monitor information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at their website by clicking this link:  //www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Owners/NHTSA-statement-on-takata-air-bags.

Everyone at Honda 802 appreciates the faith you place in us when you purchase and service a vehicle with us.  Like you, many in our Honda 802 family drive Honda vehicles.  Know that we share your concerns and that we are doing and will continue to do all that we can to protect you and keep you fully informed.

Sincerely,
802 HONDA

NHTSA Statement on  Takata Air Bag Inflators

"The  National Highway Traffic Safety Administration received notification from BMW,  Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Toyota that they are conducting  limited regional recalls to address a possible safety defect involving Takata  brand air bag inflators."

"Today's  action is influenced by a NHTSA investigation into six reports of air bag  inflator ruptures, all of which occurred in Florida and Puerto Rico."

"Based  on the limited data available at this time, NHTSA supports efforts by  automakers to address the immediate risk in areas that have consistently hot,  humid conditions over extended periods of time."

Consumers  impacted by the recalls should have their vehicles serviced promptly once they  receive notification from their vehicle manufacturer. NHTSA remains in close  communication with the supplier and automakers to gather additional data and  will take appropriate action based on our findings.
